Xagave Hot Sauce Wings

This delicious recipe for Xagave Hot Sauce Wings was created by Chef Frank, Owner of One Happy Chef.  This is a healthier version of traditional hot wings because it requires baking the wings, not frying them and reduces the amount of butter in the sauce by half!

Ingredients:
 Sauce:
1/4 C. XAGAVE
15 oz. Frank’s Hot Sauce (or your favorite hot sauce)
1/2 C. unsalted butter
1/4 C. apple cider vinegar
 Chicken:
2 lbs. chicken wings
1 tbsp kosher salt
1 tbsp fresh ground pepper
non-stick cooking spray

Steps:
Pre-heat oven to 425*F

Place all sauce ingredients in a 2 qt. sauce pan over low heat, stirring occasionally for 30 minutes, then remove from heat.

Spray sheet tray with non-stick spray

Rinse chicken wings in cold water , then sprinkle both sides of the wings with salt and pepper

Place in oven for 15 minutes, then remove from the oven and turn the chicken wings over and continue to cook for 15 more minutes or until the internal temperature is 160*F

Remove wings from sheet tray and immerse/toss wings in the sauce pan of XAGAVE Hot Sauce to completely coat each wing.
Serve and enjoy!
(XAGAVE Hot Sauce can keep covered in a refrigerator for 5 days. It must be heated to reincorporate the butter into its liquid form before using. Please discard the hot sauce portion used when tossing the wings, and do not re-use.)
